Why SurvivorRoom Loves ComfyCozys for Chemo:  ComfyCozys for Chemo was started by Lorraine Tallman to support a non-profit in her daughter's name - Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels. This organization was founded in 2013 in celebration of Amanda Hope’s life that ended all too soon when she lost her battle against Leukemia. During her four year fight, Amanda Hope dreamed that one day she would design a fun clothing line for kids in the same type of situation that would provide comfort and dignity during treatment. Profits go to support three goals of Amanda Hope Rainbow Angles.  First, care packages for children receiving chemotherapy. Second,  Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels develops and distributes educational material focused on helping medical professionals understand person-centered care, the strengths of the child and family, and the fear the family is experiencing. Workshops and presentations are conducted at health care professional conferences, trade shows and meetings to discuss the importance of supporting family voice and dignity through empathy and understanding.  Lastly, it is vital for families to understand that they are their child’s advocate –no-one else can take their place in this role. Families must have voice and choice in their child’s healthcare decisions and not be afraid to challenge healthcare protocols, professionals and insurance companies.  Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels provides advocacy support through community resources, a hotline, volunteer advocates and other supports. They also provide financial assistance to families in need  and provide funding for items such as utility payments, childcare, etc.

And one more reason SurvivorRoom Loves ComfyCozys for Chemo: All Comfycozy’s for chemo are made by 2 organizations: “Dresses for Orphans” who make clothes for orphans in 22 countries around the world and “Poonman Designs” who’s mission is to rescue young women from domestic violence and the sex trade Industry in India - Giving them dignity and training to make a better life for them and their children.
